We Sold Our House
I seriously cannot believe I am writing this, but we sold our house!
See our last house update HERE.
We sold our house and although it’s bittersweet, we are so excited!
If you read the house update, you will realize the craziness we went through last year trying to sell our house. It was pretty wild and definitely a learning experience.
It’s actually pretty amazing how things work out. God is truly in control and I know these buyers were meant to buy our house!
THE OFFER
We put our house up on the market on March 9. That next day, we received an offer, without even having a showing or open house! (The buyers had viewed our house last year, but I guess timing wasn’t right then?) We planned an open house that weekend which is also the same weekend that the whole country began shutting down for the pandemic.
Thankfully, we had already received our offer and things were looking good! We didn’t have to show the house to anyone else which was nice considering we really wouldn’t’ have been able to or wanted to with all the restrictions going on.
We close at the end of May which is quickly approaching. We have started to prepare for moving. Last week, we rented a dumpster which was so liberating, HA! We got rid of a bunch of things and organized the whole house.
MOVING
Next, we are planning out when we want to physically move and how we are going to store things. I think we will get a POD storage unit a couple weeks before closing and move all of our large pieces of furniture and things we won’t need right away and store it until we buy our new house.
Our plan is to live with my in laws until we find our next house.
FUTURE HOUSE
We have been looking at houses online every day. This is such a crazy time to be buying a house since we can’t really look at anything which makes buying a house pretty difficult.
We have been working closely with our realtor to navigate this and she’s been amazing and instrumental in figuring out our plan.
We did put an offer in on a house, however, the seller went with the other buyer’s offer. We are totally ok with it because we realize it wasn’t meant to be.
I know our future house will be coming up soon and we will find it!
Our buying journey has already begun under crazy circumstances, but considering how our selling journey went, it makes sense :)
We are thankful that the house has sold and that we are able to move. Had we listed the house even a few days later, who knows if we would have been able to sell it as quickly? Timing is seriously everything!
It’s bittersweet to be closing this chapter of our lives, but I think we have kind of become numb to missing our house because we had let go of it so many times last year as we tried to sell it. Now that it’s actually happening, we are just excited!
We will miss Buffalo, but we are only going to be about an hour away so we will definitely be visiting often!
I’m excited to see what happens next and where we will live. I can’t wait to make a new house our own. I can’t wait to take on house projects again. I can’t wait for the kids to have new spaces to make memories in.
I’m also excited for the buyers of our house. It may sound silly, but they are getting an amazing house with lots of stories. It’s time for them to start adding to the story of this house.
We have lived here for 4 years and I like to think we made an impact on this home’s history. We made a lot of changes and did a lot of updates. We made a lot of memories here including bringing both of our babies home. This home will forever have a special place in our hearts.
I don’t think we will ever have a house that has the history of this one (it was built over 100 years ago!). We have been told so many cool stories about this house from either people who lived here or from people who knew people that lived here. This house is pretty well known around here, which we didn’t realize until after we had bought it.
To our current house-
Thank you for the memories, the shelter, the warmth, the cozy vibes, the crazy stories, the learning experiences, the fun parties, the happy moments, the DIY projects, and most importantly, the LOVE.
To our future house-
WE CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU!
