Leather is one of those home decor accents that has been around for so long. It seamless blends with lots of different aesthetic styles. I think it’s something that really can stand the test of time.

I love how leather adds a little sophistication, masculinity, and warmth to a space. I think leather pieces can really ground a space, meaning it’s a good focal point or focus in a room.

There are many ways to include leather in your home. You can choose to make a big splash with furniture or use it more sparingly with decor.

HOW I USE LEATHER IN OUR HOME

I haven’t always used leather in our home. I thought it was a bit too harsh for my more lighter style, however, recently, I have started to add more color into my home and therefore, I love the addition of leather.

When I first met John Paul, he had this beautiful leather chair in his apartment. His great grandfather made it and we have moved it from every apartment and home we have had. I am fully embracing it lately and loving how it adds some warmth and coziness to our home.

I also have used leather for some decor. I have a faux leather pillow cover that I have moved all around the house, depending on where I want some more texture. I also have a hanging planter with leather straps.

HOW TO TRY THE TREND OF LEATHER

If you are looking to try the trend, I would suggest starting small. Add in a fun pillow or find a tray that has some leather straps/handles or a picture frame with leather on it. It’s easier to start small and then move on to larger items like a couch or chair.

You could add leather dining room chairs or a leather headboard in the bedroom. A leather stool would be fun for a couch or chair. A leather bench at the end of a bed or in an entryway. There are so many options, which is the beauty of leather!
