Giulietta's Big Girl Room Reveal!

I was inspired by boho and mid century modern styles, plus Gigi’s favorite, butterflies, for her new big girl bedroom!

We have been eager to get Giulietta into a big girl bed for a couple months now. She started to boycott her crib and would only sleep in our bed. About a month later, she would no longer nap in her crib, only our bed. After the holiday rush was over, we got her a new twin bed and transformed her nursery into her new big girl room!

It’s a little bittersweet that my little girly no longer sleeps in her crib, but she absolutely loves her new room which makes this transition really easy on my mama heart!

When planning out her new big girl room, I wanted to keep it with a similar look to her nursery with some minor updates like a new bed, bedding, and some new art and decor. I love the boho and mid century modern style, but also wanted to include butterflies, her favorite color, pink, and some of Gigi’s favorite songs into the decor since it’s what she loves. Walmart came in big with this room reveal and I am SO thrilled with how it turned out!!!!

BED

I was so excited when I found this twin bed at Walmart (queen bed option too!) because I had been eyeing this for months and knew I wanted to get this for Gigi. I love the mid century modern vibes, the wood tone, and I think it will be perfect as she grows up. I love that it’s not too high off the ground so I don’t have to worry too much about her falling off the bed. We did keep one side against the wall for extra protection, but she’s been doing really well with sleeping in her bed….knock on wood!!!!

BEDDING

I knew getting her out of our bed was a priority, but she really loved sleeping in our bed so I figured it may be tough. I had her help me pick out her bedding so that she was excited for her new bedroom! We found lots of beautiful bedding from Walmart and we both love it so much! I wanted to keep a similar color scheme of pinks, blues, yellows, and whites since we weren’t planning to paint or do much else in her room so that played a role in figuring out the bedding too!

Pink is Giulietta’s favorite color so when I came across this comforter at Walmart, I knew she would love it. I showed it to her online first and it was instant love! She now tells everyone about her ‘pink bed’ because she is so proud of it! It’s adorable! The comforter is reversible and so soft.

For sheets, I found these dainty floral striped yellow ones. They are so cozy and soft. I’ve washed them several times already and they look and feel even better. I added this striped blanket for some extra warmth, if needed. It’s also so silky soft and reversible.

DECOR + ART

I love this woven pouf. It adds some good texture and it’s a nice spot to lay extra blankets if not in use. Gigi likes to sit on it or play with her doll house toys on it.

Lastly, we switched up the art in her room. The bed is a little off center in the room because we wanted it against the wall and her room is so small, it really only made sense to go in this spot. For this reason, I wanted to add a gallery wall above her bed to balance out the spacing. I had most of the art already in her room which was really nice.

My sister designed the You Are My Sunshine art for her as that’s her favorite song. We sing it every time before she naps or goes to bed. I found this beautiful matted frame at Walmart to put the art in too!

We are all so happy with Giulietta’s new big girl room! She has been napping and sleeping so well since we moved her into her bed! Our girl is growing up!
