3 Easy Ways to Give Back During the Holidays

During the busy holiday season, it’s important to give back and I found 3 ways that make it so easy!

Now that we have two little babies, I want to start lots of new family traditions. This year, we are trying to teach them the importance of giving back. Although they are still young and might not understand, I feel it’s important to start now so that these values are instilled in them from a young age.

Being that Dominic and Giulietta are so young, it can be tough to get out and about during the Holidays so I wanted to find ways we can give back from the comfort of our home.

Amazon has made it so simple to give back, which is amazing! Through Amazon, we made a donation to the charity of our choice and helped deliver smiles this holiday season. Amazon provides three convenient ways to give back:

1. AmazonSmile Charity Lists: browse tons of charities’ wish lists and purchase items from their lists to be delivered directly to them
2. AmazonSmile: choose a charity to donate a portion of eligible purchases toward
3. Alexa: donate to a charity of your choice by using any Alexa enabled device and say “Alexa, I want to make a donation.”

Why We Chose AmazonSmile

It made sense for us to choose AmazonSmile this holiday season. Since we are making lots of purchases through Amazon for gifts, we can also give back at the same time.

We chose The Breast Cancer Network of WNY as our charity of choice. My Grandmother and two of my Aunts had breast cancer and John Paul’s Aunt is a breast cancer survivor. Being that breast cancer has touched our family so closely, we made the decision to donate to our local Breast Cancer Network.

It’s so easy to do, you just make sure you’re shopping on the AmazonSmile site - smile.amazon.com - (you will see the charity of your choice under the search bar) and shop as you normally would. When you make your purchase, a portion of the purchase price of eligible products will be donated to the charity or organization you chose!

We not only were able to check off people on our Christmas list, but were able to make an impact in our local community. How amazing that we’re able to Deliver Smiles through Amazon and get our Christmas shopping done?

FAMILY TRADITIONS

Starting traditions with our little family is so fun! From choosing our tree to reading the Night Before Christmas Book on Christmas Eve, we are creating lasting memories for our kiddos!

This year, Dominic and Giulietta couldn’t really help us decide which charity to donate to, but I think it would be great if each year, they chose a charity that was special to them that we could donate to.

Amazon has lots of charities to choose from which will make it easy for our kids to pick an organization that they would like to support.

I plan to do this at the beginning of each holiday season to show them that giving back is important. While we are very blessed to be shopping for others, some people don’t have this luxury and I want my kiddos to understand the reason for the season.

This also doesn’t have to be a seasonal tradition, as we can easily shop on AmazonSmile throughout the year for our everyday purchases and give back to our organization of choice!
