Yard Tour

With Memorial Day being the unofficial start to summer, John Paul & I wasted no time & got to working on our yard this past weekend so I thought I’d share a little tour!

When we bought this house, we were so excited to get started on the yard this summer!

Come take a little yard tour of all of our hard work this weekend!

In the front yard, we added all new black mulch, weeded the lawn/gardens, & planted some flowers for the steps & porch. I planted Martha Washington Geraniums & potted Dahlias with Double Begonias. I also added some hanging Boston Ferns.

The back yard saw the biggest transformation. We added all new rocks on the walkway to the deck.  I love how the rocks make the pathway look so inviting. It is our walkway to paradise!  Those big edging stones were moved from one of the gardens in the back yard to the walk way. That was John Paul's idea so I will give him 100% of the credit on that one :) We decided the garden in the back yard was not necessary so we planted some grass seed over it in hopes that we will actually grow some grass!

Our huge Japanese Maple Tree provides so much privacy, I love it!  The Adirondack chairs make the perfect little sitting nook.

A fun story about this Miss Kim Lilac Bush.  For the longest time, this bush was not blooming and we had NO idea what it was.  Finally it started blooming with little buds that looked like purple lilacs.   We knew Lilac season was almost over so we didn't think they could be Lilacs, but finally this weekend they started to bloom!  They smelled just like Lilacs so I sent a photo to my MIL.  She knew immediately what they were because she has them in her yard too!  The bush is GORGEOUS!

We put down new white marble rocks along the pool.  I think it makes the pool really pop & gives the back yard a fresh look.  The pool is officially up & running which has been perfect timing with this heat wave we've been having in Western NY.

Cheers to the start of an amazing summer!
