Winter Shelf Styling

I haven’t done a refresh on the bookshelves in a while so I figured I would do some winter shelf restyling!

See all the details of these bookshelves, HERE.

I love to simplify for winter so I wanted to do some new shelf styling in our living room!

I wanted to challenge myself to update our shelves for winter by only using what was already in our living room. I wanted to give them a new look, but use pretty much the same items. Kind of tricky when my brain was thinking back to what they used to look like when I was styling the shelves.

This was a really fun exercise of shopping the shelves to make them look new and fresh. I used mainly items already on the shelves, plus some things from around the living room.

I think the shelves look refreshed, cozy, and warm!

We use these shelves for a lot of storage. We don’t have any closets or other storage spaces in the living room so the baskets are actually storing cords, notebooks, oils, and more. We also don’t have a space to store dining room linens so some baskets have tablecloths, runners, napkins, etc.

I love a space that is not only beautiful to the eye, but functional! Makes me love my home even more!

WINTER SHELF DECOR

I kept with a color scheme of blues, pinks, blacks, greens, and wood tones. I like doing this when styling shelves to keep it cohesive.

I like using books as decor, baskets to store things, twinkle lights and battery operated candles, plants, and art.

I want the shelves to look balanced without looking exact on each side. I want your eye to move around the shelves combining similar things, but not look like exact replicas.

I also added some big cozy blankets that we can easily grab when sitting in the living room. This might be my favorite new touch to the shelves. I love the texture they add.

I removed some pieces and added them to the TV stand. The TV stand looks more full now which I really like as we are using it to its’ full potential!

I rearranged some pieces on the pink end table and the vintage sewing machine. It feels good to switch things up and try something new.
