Tablescape

I don’t typically decorate for Valentine’s Day, however this year I wanted to try something different. I love building tablescapes and thought it would be fun to play around with some Valentine’s Day decor.

Not only am I sharing my Valentine’s Day tablescape, but I have joined up with several talented ladies who are sharing lots of Valentine’s Day ideas with you for this Home Sweet Valentine Blog Hop! Everyone is linked at the bottom of the post. If you are here from Brendt’s, She Gave It A Go, fun goodie bag idea—WELCOME! Isn’t that such a cute idea?!

TABLESCAPE IDEA

  • Use of pinks, flowers, and whites

  • Incorporate a really easy and fun DIY project

  • Create something simple that could also be functional for when we eat at the table every night

Rose for Valentine's Day

CENTERPIECE

I came up with this super easy DIY table runner. All I did was lay down white craft paper and secured it with tape. I then painted X’s and O’s all down the center of it with pink acrylic paint. I wanted the letters to have the paint strokes in them to give it a more casual feel.

After the paint was dry, I added 3 clear bud vases and put 2 pink roses in each. I had to trim some of the leaves from the roses and decided to lay the leaves down across the center of the table.

I also used our cute envelopes from Minted as centerpiece decor. I love the texture and dimension they add with some of them popping up a bit. I added the stickers to a few for some extra color.

PLACE SETTING

Place setting

I used a pink placemat then layered my classic white plate on top. Next, I added a blush napkin. I love how the pinks are all different. I think it gives the table more interest.

Lastly, I topped each napkin with a Valentine from Minted. They are so cute!! We customized them and I thought they were perfect as little takeaways for a get together! I plan to frame one for Giulietta’s nursery.

EXTRAS

I didn’t do too much extra throughout the dining room except for on the white buffet table. I added a pink table runner for the base.

I then layered a big pink flowered wreath on top of the gate. It reads a little spring-y, but I love it!

I put my diffuser on the pink light setting and put a yummy sweet diffuser blend in of Jade Lemon and Orange! Smells like candy!

I had so much fun putting this together and now I want to decorate each year!
