I added a few new touches for summer to make our kitchen shelf styling a little more fun!

I didn’t want to add too much to the shelf for summer, but wanted to freshen it up a bit.

Summer Kitchen Shelf Styling Ideas

When styling shelves, I like to use similar colors throughout to keep it balanced and cohesive. For these shelves, I’m using greens, pinks, wood tones, and blacks.

I like to use different textures too to add contrast and interest. I like to use different materials so art prints, the woven covers on the glasses, the ceramic bowls, the plants, etc.

I also like to add different heights to move the eye around. So the stacked bowls, the flat cutting board, the leaning artwork, the plants.

How to Style a Kitchen Shelf for Summer

Since I really just added a few new pieces for summer, I followed the same layout I had at springtime. See that post, HERE.

I added in the glasses with the woven covers, the mini creamer and sugar, and the stacked ovenware. I wanted to bring in some lighter textures by adding the glasses, plus we use them daily for drinks. My MIL so kindly found me these adorable vintage creamer and sugar after realizing we didn’t have a set. I thought they were too pretty to be in a cabinet so I love them out as decor. This ovenware is so beautiful that I wanted it out on display. It also makes it so easy to grab when we need it!

I love playing around with shelves and restyling them every so often. It’s creative and fun for me. Just some small changes or additions and the whole space feels new. I don’t like to overcomplicate shelf styling by overthinking it. I keep moving things around until I feel it looks best. Remember, home decor is an art, not a science, so you can’t do things wrong!
