Summer Dining Room Tour

Yay it's Summer!!!  I love Summertime and all the fun that comes with it: laid back days, fun BBQs, pool time, and SUNSHINE!  For me, Summer means light and easy decor around the house.

Today I am sharing my summer dining room tour with you!

I am doing this tour as part of the Easy Summer Styling blog hop hosted by the lovely, Kelly from The Tattered Pew.

If you are coming over from my friend, Brendt, She Gave it A Go, welcome, isn't her home gorgeous?! There is seriously so much inspiration in this tour that I think you will love what we all have put together for you!

So let's get to touring our dining room!  I love styling this space and I switch it up pretty regularly in here, but I haven't in so long that I thought it would be fun to add some Summer touches.  I focused everything on Summer greenery and pretty much sprinkled it all over the dining room.

For the centerpiece on the dining table, I followed my favorite table scape tip (read that post HERE) to create this look!  I used lots of different glass jars in all shapes and sizes and put them down the center of the table.  I filled each jar with a little bit of water and clipped some greens from all different trees and bushes in our yard.  Some of the greens may be weeds (LOL) because as you know I am not a gardener, but I thought they were so fresh and pretty that I didn't really care what plants they came from.  I cut the greens in varying heights to give the centerpiece lots of movement.  No matter which way you were looking at the table, it always looks full and green!  As the greenery stems start to get old, I will replace them with new ones from the yard.

Next, let's chat about the buffet table behind the dining table.  I didn't do much to this piece, but I did switch up the chalk board to include our summer bucket list.  I included lots of fun activities for us to do this Summer with Dominic!  I also put all the extra clippings from the greenery in a big galvanized bucket to add a pop of green to the buffet.

Let's move over to the antique cabinet. I kept it really simple here and added a couple topiaries which I think are so whimsical.  They have barely needed my attention since we got them about a month ago (which is so helpful for this black thumb!).  I used my favorite chippy corbels and books in the center with the old window behind it to anchor everything.

Moving to the barn door corner!  I moved the shelving unit so that this space was a little less cluttered.  I hung up the pink wreath on the door and I love the slight splash of color it adds.  I put the mini ladder on the floor with my collected burlap cloths from the Farm Girl Flowers John Paul has sent me in the past!

I moved the shelving unit to in front of the windows.  I felt I needed something in front of the windows and since I haven't been able to find a piece of furniture I love, I used what I had and it fits perfectly!  I removed all the Rae Dunn that was on the shelves and replaced it with some of my favorite antique finds.  I added another little topiary over here so that the room felt balanced with greenery in every little spot of the dining room.

So that wraps up the tour of the dining room styled for Summer!  I loved having you on this tour :)  I love how simple, airy, and bright It feels.  It feels like a greenhouse or nursery with all the plants around.  It's easy to maintain and keep clean so we can spend our time hanging outside which is exactly what we want to do in the summer.
