Mid Century Modern Dining Room

We have been slowly putting together our mid century modern dining room.

See our modern entryway HERE.

I love how our mid century modern dining room is coming along and I’m excited to share our plans for the future.

Our dining room is also in the same space as our living room so I wanted to make sure everything flowed really well together. This space is still a work in progress and will be for a while because we have lots of plans for this space. Today I want to focus on the dining room and all the details of it!

MID CENTURY MODERN DINING ROOM DETAILS

The dining room is kind of bare as far as decor goes because I want to add picture frame molding to the wall behind the table. I’m not sure when we will get to that, but I haven’t found anything I love as much to put there in the interim.

The table was actually from our last house. This was the first major purchase we made for our last house and I love it so much. We had a much more farmhouse style home in our last house, but I love how it still works with our more mid century modern vibes in this house.

MID CENTURY MODERN DINING ROOM CHAIRS

The chairs kind of complete the mid century modern feel. We went with a bench on the side of the table that is against the wall. The bench is super comfortable and I love how it looks against the wall. This gives us more space so we can push the table up against the bench when we don’t have others eating with us. We usually sit in the blush pink chairs to give our living room a bit more space.

The blush pink velvet chairs are so sleek and pretty. I love the soft texture on the chair and the brass hairpin type legs. They are a nice pop of color and work so well with the rug from the living room.

The black windsor chairs are a nod to a more traditional look, but I love how they mix with the rest of the furniture. They are great end chairs and I love the black with all the wood tones.

Also, the high chairs are typically on the right side of the table, however, I moved them so you could get a good view of all of the chairs and table.

MID CENTURY MODERN LIGHTING

The light is probably my favorite thing in the whole dining room! I found this light right before we moved in and I was instantly obsessed with it! It’s a daisy capiz chandelier and it’s gorgeous! Truly a statement piece and I love how it looks with all of our mid century modern pieces. It feels very mid century, but also feminine and a tad coastal.

DINING ROOM PLANS

So like I said, this is kind of a work in progress space, but I am loving the direction it’s going. We want to do picture frame molding on the back wall with 3 large moldings. I have this vision in my head and I can’t seem to shake it so it must be what I want for this space!

I also think we may need some sort of little table on the left side by the back door for storage of outdoor things and dining room things.

I’m sure I will hang something fun on the side walls as well, but again, haven’t found anything yet.

This is very much in its infancy stage decorwise, but the furniture is amazing and I love how it all looks together!
