Guest Bedroom Makeover

Guest Bedroom Makeover

Thank you to Behr for providing the paint for this project. All opinions are my own! Thank you for supporting brands I love!

The guest bedroom was one of the last rooms needing a makeover and so I finally decided to get it started!

I love Behr paint and have used it in every room of our home! See all the paint colors, I’ve used HERE.

The guest bedroom makeover was an easy transformation using some unexpected color!

Guest bedroom reveal

We tend to have a lot of guests with neither of our family living closeby so I have always wanted to update this space for them to give them a little oasis to retreat to when they come to stay with us!

If you have been reading the blog for a while, you know I love neutral colors! In fact, my whole house is some sort of gray and/or white.

Behr Blueprint

After attending the Behr 2019 color of the year unveiling event, I was so inspired to step out of my comfort zone and use some COLOR!

The Behr 2019 color of the year is called Blueprint and I loved how it was shown at the event so I decided to use it as an accent wall in the guest bedroom!

Blueprint

The guest bedroom was the same color as our master bedroom before we painted, see that HERE. It was dark and dreary and didn’t feel inviting for our guests.

On the rest of the walls, I used my favorite shade of white, Silent White. It’s the perfect shade of white that doesn’t feel too cold and stark, but doesn’t have a lot of yellow undertones either which I love. Picking the perfect shade of white is tough, but this one is a tried and true white that I absolutely love!

Guest room makeover

I kept the decor above the bed simple as I thought the Blueprint wall was the perfect pop and I wanted it to be the main focus. I layered a few wreaths to add some texture and natural elements.

I added these wire shelving units that I have had for so long from Home Goods to the sides of the bed to use as end tables.

We have some photos from our travels over the years so I thought it would be fun to create a sort of ‘travel theme’ in the guest room as we have guests from all over. I used this giant wall hanging from Ashley furniture behind this leather chair. Side note: we are planning to hang it, however Dominic has been a little under the weather so we didn’t have time before the post went live. I will show you when it does get hung!

Leather chair in guest room

A little background on this leather chair. John Paul has had it since I’ve known him. It was his grandfather’s chair and he never really liked it but never wanted to get rid of it. I am not one to save things and when we were moving, I said let’s just get rid of it, if you don’t like it! He didn’t want to so it ended up in the guest room to catch all the extra ‘junk’ that’s been stored in here! Well now that I have redone this room, I LOVE the chair! I think it adds the perfect masculine touch and it adds some warmth and different texture with the leather. I will say, the chair is very low to the ground, HA!

Guest bedroom bed

I kept things pretty simple in here. When our guests come in here, I don’t want them to be overwhelmed with things. I want them to be able to come in, drop their suitcases off, and then have a relaxing time with us!

Paint is the best thing to use when you want to create a simple and inexpensive makeover to a room! I love the colors in here and the guest bedroom makeover is finally DONE!
