I love making gingerbread houses each Christmas season so I thought it would be fun to include them in a tablescape! These came as a set and I used them in the tablescape before we decorated them with all the candies!
Today, I am sharing this tablescape as a part of the Celebrating Christmas Blog hop where there are several bloggers sharing Christmas tree decor, tablescapes, and wreaths/front door ideas! Be sure to check out the ladies joining me below! A big thanks to Leen, Sand Dollar Lane, for hosting this hop!
If you are hopping over from Thistle Key Lane, isn’t her evergreen tablescape gorgeous?! I love it! Also, welcome to Aratari At Home! I hope when you visit here, you feel inspired to make your house, your home and to love where you live.
GINGERBREAD HOUSE TABLESCAPE
Every year, I look forward to making gingerbread houses. Now, with the kiddos, it’s become a lot more fun as they love helping and eating all the decorations. When we decided to make the gingerbread houses, I thought it would be fun to include them in this tablescape idea.
We used an Oreo gingerbread village kit that we got from Christmas Tree Shops AndThat!. It was actually super easy to build the houses, yes, they are not perfect, but I love the imperfect! My little trick for building gingerbread houses is to put them in the freezer in before attaching the roof, it seems to help keep them together and make them sturdier.
I used my favorite vintage bread board that my Mom gifted to me as the anchor of the centerpiece. I then laid down some of my favorite twinkle globe lights to add some sparkle. I love the bobble look of the bulbs.
Next, I added my favorite mercury glass light up trees from Lights.com. They are truly stunning and they make every place I put them more magical. I love the glow of the lights and the varying sizes and shapes. Use code LINDSAY10 for 10% off the whole Lights.com site!
I also added a few bottle brush trees, cone trees, felt trees, and yarn trees. I wanted some different textures throughout the tablescape and I love how they are all different sizes and shapes.
I then nestled the gingerbread houses around the twinkle lights and trees. I love the dark brown color against all the brighter and sparkly things. They are so tiny too, which makes them even better, I think!
Once the lights, trees, and houses were down the center of the table, I thought it needed a touch of greenery. I used some of our tree clippings from our real tree to add some natural texture. I love the pop of green it adds. I made sure to have the branches flowing all different directions too to give lots of movement.
Lastly, I laid down some red bells for a little pop of red. I only added a few, but I think it’s the perfect final touch for the whole tablescape.
PLACE SETTINGS
I decided not to actually set the table, but to just put out some of my favorite Christmas dishes. I have had them for a couple years now and I think they are so beautiful. I love the vintage charm of them and how they feel like the perfect Christmas scene.
I had so much fun putting this tablescape together! It’s filled with things I love and I hope it inspires you to use your gingerbread house creations to decorate your home with too!
