Easy Summer Tablescape
I love a good and easy tablescape, especially for summer when we like to dine outside a lot!
My obsession with plants has extended to flowers too lately, but check out my beginner’s guide to houseplants HERE.
This easy summer tablescape is so fresh and bright for the warmer months!
I am so excited because not only am I sharing this fun tablescape with you, but I am part of a summer home tour with over 40 bloggers sharing all week long! There is tons of inspiration and everyone’s posts are linked at the bottom of mine! Thank you to Krista, The Happy Housie, for putting this all together!
If you are joining from Kelly, The Tattered Pew, welcome! Her home is so beautiful all styled for summer!
For summertime, I like to create easy spaces that are no fuss. It makes for a much less stressful summer, in my opinion. This tablescape is simple and functional. You could easily host a get together and whip this up in no time!
SUMMER TABLESCAPE
I used lots of lemon accents along with fresh lilacs from our lilac bush! I think both of these just scream summer!
Fresh flowers are always a go to for me in the summer. They add so much cheer and bring the outdoors in! As much time as we spend outside, I like having some pretty flowers inside too!
CENTERPIECE
First, I laid down a burlap table runner. It adds some nice texture and a natural element. I used a lemon tea towel to anchor the centerpiece. The centerpiece is a milk glass vase full of lilacs. They smell AMAZING! They make our entire home smell like a garden, I love it. They don’t last long so I love to bring them inside to enjoy them for as long as possible.
To recreate this, you could use any fresh or faux flower in any vase that you have. You could use any tea towel of your choice!
For serving, I added a lemon platter that could be used for small treats. I love having a pitcher of water on the table during parties so guests can easily serve themselves more water, if needed.
PLACE SETTINGS
The place settings are one of my favorite parts of this tablescape! I love using white dinner plates because they go with everything. They are simple and can be layered with a fun patterned plate or bowl, like these lemon plates!
I used a fun check napkin underneath the salad plate that ties in with the colors of the lemon plates. I also brought out my pretty silverware that I like to use for parties! It’s still simple, but a little more fancy since we don’t use it daily. Lastly, the cups are fun vintage inspired glasses that add some fun texture.
For recreating this, you could use whatever color plates you like or have and then add a matching bowl or plate (depending on what you’re serving). Use whatever silverware you have along with your favorite glasses!
Tablescapes are an expression of creativity to me so I like to use tons of things I already own and make them work together. Shopping my home first is one of my favorite ways to decorate my home! If you want more tablescape tips, READ MY POST HERE.
I hope this inspires you to try out a summer tablescape! Even if you just bring in some flowers from the garden, I think your home will feel more summery!
