Cozy Christmas Living Room
I wanted our cozy Christmas living room to feel inviting and nostalgic with touches from the past.
If you missed it, I shared a full tutorial a couple days ago about how I decorated our Christmas tree in our living room.
Our cozy Christmas living room is full of nods to the past and lots of our favorite traditions!
A big thank you to Kelly, North Country Nest for organizing this fun Christmas home tour! At the end of this post, I am linking to all the other ladies who are a part of this hop so be sure to stop by their beautiful homes!
Our living room is the last space I decorated for Christmas because I wanted to take my time and really plan things out. We always get a real tree for our living room so I wanted to wait until we got that to finish the whole room.
I wanted our living room to be a constant reminder of the reason for the Christmas season so I included a lot of our favorite traditions.
Above our couch, I hung up this amazing sign from Oh Sweet Skye. My Mom always read The Night Before Christmas to my siblings and I on Christmas Eve so when I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for our home as I want to do this with Dominic. I added some greenery and wreaths to the side of the sign to add some more texture.
On the table in the corner, I created a little Christmas village with some of the white houses from the Target dollar spot. I also added our adorable Nativity set that my Mom got for Dominic. It is perfect for him and we will use it year after year to celebrate the season.
Our fireplace is so cozy with lots of garlands and greenery. I layered 2 flocked garlands on the mantle and had them drape down. I added some lamb’s ear and greenery picks to make the garlands fuller. I hung some greenery to the front of the mantle along with a wood disc garland. I bunched our stockings to the right side and added these DIY stocking tags. Some candle sticks, candles, and Christmas trees complete the whole fireplace.
On the back table, I created a Christmas tree forest. I used a variety of trees and placed them on the table and strung Christmas lights all around them. I also used a silver ball garland and star lights to add some shine! I love that you can see this table twinkling from the outside.
Around this table, I added our Brio train set. I think trains are so fun this time of year and I wanted something that was decor, but also something that Dominic could play with! I want him to be comfortable in our living room and be able to play freely so by putting this train set out along with the extra pieces, he has easy access to play with it! It didn’t stay this way for long, FYI!
On our couches, I kept it simple with a couple red ticking pillow covers and chunky textured blankets. The coffee table I kept simple as well since Dominic is playing in here a lot and likes to take off the things from the table. I wanted it easy to take down when he’s in here so it is comfortable for him and not too styled that he can’t play and be himself. He actually loves playing with this truck and putting his little trucks in the back of it.
Our Christmas living room is cozy and comfortable. It is functional and still festive, like our kitchen. The little traditions I sprinkled over the room are my favorite parts.
I hope you enjoyed our cozy Christmas living room tour!
Now, who’s ready for Christmas?!
