This post is kind of an ode to my Mother in Law.  She is such an amazing home maker with wonderful decor taste, an eye for all things pretty, & is the best cook!  Not to mention, she is a home & careers teacher so I consider her an expert in all these areas.  I hit the jackpot with her for a Mother in Law.  I actually think I hit the In Law jackpot because they're all some of the best people I have ever met.

Anyways, my Mother in Law also hosts beautiful parties & events.  It is kind of her specialty.  I have learned a lot from her on how to be a good host & what makes for a fun party theme!  She always has the prettiest tablescapes so this tea party tablescape is definitely inspired by her.  

 
She gave me this beautiful china that has been passed down to her from family members.  It is so simple yet so stunning.  I don't use it too often, but I thought it would be so fun to style a whimsical tea party with this china.  

My Mother in Law is also a huge MacKenzie-Childs fan. She kind of got me hooked onto it & I have enjoyed collecting some pieces throughout the years. They are very unique pieces of pottery that work with any style. They are timeless & classic. If you have not seen their products, check out the website here. They have a beautiful store in Aurora, NY that we visited a couple years ago. It is such a charming store & I could spend hours in there just looking at everything. If you are ever in the Aurora, NY area, I highly suggest checking it out. It is such an incredible experience.

I have several pieces of the MacKenzie-Childs classic black & white check pattern & recently got some items from their new Flower Market Collection. It is the perfect collection to bring in Spring!

I thought it would be perfect to combine this beautiful China with this MacKenzie-Childs vase (HERE) & pitcher (HERE). They make for the perfect little tea party. The simple floral design of the china works effortlessly with the bold floral design of the vase & pitcher. I love the combination of the patterns together. Mixing patterns is easy when the color scheme is very similar. The muted tones of the china look so pretty against the intense hues of the pottery.  I used some faux Lamb's Ear & flowers in the vase & added a table cloth folded up as a table runner to add some texture. For water glasses, I chose champagne flutes to fancy it up a bit & added little gold spoons for stirring the tea. Some little tea lights from IKEA & we have a quick tea party!

Now, who wants to come over for high tea & sandwiches?!
